Botox is a neurotoxin derived from Clostridium botulinum that produces a protein to prevent nerve signals from causing muscles to contract, resulting in smoother facial contours.

Typically, Botox treatments last between three and four months until they fade away. You will need to maintain your youthful appearance by receiving regular treatments. In addition, first-timers may notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment. Results may vary depending on the patient.

Northeast Medical Practice offers safe and effective Botox treatments for clients who want to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. For more information about Botox, you may schedule a consultation with us today.

Botox is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, called botulinum toxin type A. Toxins target the nervous system and disrupt signaling processes that stimulate muscle contractions. It causes temporary muscle paralysis and reduces stiffness.

The majority of people find Botox treatments painless and have mild to no side effects. The full effects of a Botox injection usually take 3 - 7 days to appear on the wrinkles or lines that were treated. Depending on what you are treating, Botox lasts for three to twelve months.

If you would like more information about Botox, you may schedule a consultation here at Northeast Medical Practice. Providing our clients with safe, effective Botox injections is our goal.

Hooded eyelids can be treated with Botox injections. Treatment can correct a low eyebrow position or slight brow drooping causing the eyelids to hang lower than they should. Injecting a small amount of Botox into the outer end of the eyebrow can elevate it slightly. Botox not only raises the eyebrows slightly, but also lifts the upper eyelid, revealing a small amount of eyelid skin. Using Botox to treat hooded eyelids is a short-term solution.

The neurotoxin's effects will eventually wear off, and the eyebrow muscles will regain their strength. Botox injections usually last between two and three months.

Find out more about Botox treatment for hooded eyelids at Northeast Medical Practice. Get in touch with us today to schedule a consultation.

When Botox is injected into your body, tiny punctures appear where the Botox was injected. Even if you don't notice them, they can pose problems if you wear makeup after the procedure.

During the first four hours after the procedure, it is recommended that you do not apply makeup to your face to avoid infection or complications. Make sure you wait at least 30 minutes for the small injection punctures to close up if you need to wear makeup sooner than that.

Although you may feel tempted to cover some of the swelling with makeup, it's wise to let your skin rest. Feel free to ask your provider how long you should wait if you don't feel comfortable walking around barefaced. Make an appointment at Northeast Medical Practice if you would like to find out more about wearing makeup after Botox.
